Blast & Weave Sig Tag Tutorial
This tutorial was created on January 31, 2004. If it bears any resemblance to another tutorial on the net, it is pure coincidence. The skills that you will learn here are your own, and I hope that you will find them useful. In this tutorial, I will assume that you have a basic working knowledge of PSP, and it is made for upper level beginners with plug-in experience or intermediate skill levels. Materials:
Instructions: Open a new image 500 x 500 pixels. Open the tube of your choice or the one provided. Edit copy, select your new blank image and choose paste as new layer. Close your original image. Right click in your layer pane and choose duplicate layer 2 times. Rename the first copy "copy 1" and the second copy "copy 2". You should now have three layers with the same image.
Hide the copy 1 and copy 2 layers by clicking on the eye to the right of each layer. There should now be red X's on those two layers with only layer 1 visible.
Make sure your first layer is selected and apply the Toadies Weaver filter with these settings: Cell Width 59, Cell Height 48, Cell Edges 255. Adjust, sharpness, sharpen. Unhide the copy 1 layer and make sure you have this layer selected. Resize this layer 75% with the "resize all layers box unchecked. Center the image with your mover tool on the woven image. Apply the Toadies Blast Em' filter with these settings: Diffuse 36, Transparency 255. Unhide your copy 2 layer and make sure you have this layer selected. Resize this layer 65% with the "resize all layers box unchecked. Center the image with your mover tool. Adjust, sharpness, sharpen. Merge, merge visible. Save this image as a .psp image for later use and to add your text to. Add a new raster layer and re-name this layer "text". From your picture, choose a dark foreground color and a light background color. I choose #C14E4A for the Foreground and #E3AA97 for the Background color. Select your text tool, floating, size 72, stroke 1, anti-alias checked. Type your name or text of your choice. With text still selected, move the text to the area of your choosing. Effects, 3D effects, Inner bevel, color white, with the following settings:
Then add a drop shadow using the following color #A44D48 or color of your choice with the following settings:
Export your finished file as a .gif and your all set. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
