The 2011 audit is in for the city of Pekin, and Auditor Jim Warning says he is “cautiously optimistic” about finances in the city. In 2009, key revenues to the city plunged during the economic downturn. Sales tax revenues, state-shared income tax revenues, corporate personal property replacement tax revenue, franchise fees and licenses and permit fees dropped significantly.
